I guess you could say carpentry is in my genes, as I grew up around tools and timber, but it wasn't until I built my first dining room table in 2011 that I really got into it for myself. There was something that clicked when I planed the weathered exterior off some old growth heart pine for the first time. I was hooked, so I started reading lots of books, talking to as many pros as I could, and taking every chance I got to practice.
Though I am most inspired by Danish and Mid-Century furniture blended with simpler American shaker and mission styles, one of the joys of custom and commissioned work is that I am always being pushed into other styles.
If you are interested in commissioning a piece of furniture, use the contact page and send me a message. I would love to work with you to design something that we are both proud of.
